So Many Activities, Something for Every Age
One of the biggest strengths of a family trip to Dubai is the sheer diversity of activities on offer. You can mix adventure, nature, culture, and downtime without ever feeling rushed or bored.
A Full Day at a Dubai Water Park
We kicked things off with a day at one of Dubai’s famous family-friendly water parks, and it was a huge hit. From gentle splash areas to thrilling slides, it’s easy to spend an entire day here.
For parents, the facilities are excellent—plenty of shaded areas, lockers, and food options—making it a relaxed experience even with younger kids.
An Unforgettable Desert Adventure: Camels, Culture & Bedouin Hospitality
One of the most unforgettable experiences of our entire trip was our desert adventure—and it was just as magical with kids as we’d hoped.
We entered the desert the traditional way, riding camels across the sand, which immediately made the experience feel special and authentic. For the children, this was a true once-in-a-lifetime moment and surprisingly calm and enjoyable.
Our journey led us to a Bedouin-style desert camp, where the evening came alive. We were treated to incredible falconry displays, traditional dancing and entertainment, and an atmosphere that felt both exciting and welcoming for families.
As the sun set, we were fed like royalty—a generous feast of delicious food served under the stars. The kids were completely captivated, and for us as parents, it was the perfect mix of adventure, culture, and comfort.
This experience added a meaningful cultural layer to our Dubai trip and is something we would wholeheartedly recommend to families visiting for the first time.

Nature in the City: Butterfly Park & Flower Gardens
Dubai also surprised us with its green spaces.
We visited a butterfly park, which was a calm and magical change of pace. Walking among hundreds of colourful butterflies was a lovely experience for the kids and a welcome break from the heat.
Nearby, the flower gardens felt almost unreal—vibrant displays, creative sculptures, and endless photo opportunities. It’s a great spot to slow down and let kids explore without screens or queues.
Iconic Dubai: Burj Khalifa & the Waterfront
No family trip to Dubai is complete without seeing the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. Even before going up, the surrounding waterfront area makes the visit worthwhile.
We spent time walking around the fountains, soaking up the atmosphere, and enjoying the open space—perfect for letting kids stretch their legs after a busy morning.
Visiting in the late afternoon worked well for us, as temperatures were cooler and the views were stunning.
Dolphins, Shows & Big Smiles
Another highlight for our kids was a dolphin show. It was engaging, well-organised, and genuinely entertaining for all ages.
If you’re travelling with animal-loving children, this is a great way to add variety to your itinerary and create a memorable moment they’ll talk about long after the trip.
Shopping (and Entertainment) at Dubai Mall
Even if shopping isn’t your main goal, Dubai Mall is an experience in itself—especially with kids.
Beyond the shops, there’s so much to see and do: impressive displays, family-friendly restaurants, and plenty of indoor entertainment options. It’s also conveniently located next to the Burj Khalifa, making it easy to combine both in one day.
